Does anyone know if explorers ever came with very dark grey interior? I am looking for a console but all i can find is light grey.

 

Not sure, but you could re-finish it in a darker shade if all you can find is the light grey type.

 

Don't quote me, but I think they started putting them in the 2001 models. I seen one with a dark gray interior in the use car lot. I have a lite gray one ready to install and want to praint it a darker gray, any suggestions on what brqnd of paint to use?

 

Thanks, I thought I had seen a limited before with dark grey interior. I'd rather not have to paint one, just doesnt seem like it would hold up very well.

 

I JUST did this mod. I used Dupli-Coat Charcoal Grey. It's close, but not quite. Check out my cardomain site to see pics. I'm actually planning on removing my console to work on the mounting bracket to make it even more secure, but anyways: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2231002/2

 

Yes... the explorers did come with the dark grey interior... i know mine is... as are most (if not all) of the 98 and up explorers i do believe. I think they were just doing dark grey and tan from 98 on up.

mine was pulled from an 01....light gray though...same with my OHC...oh well, I might just paint em black to match my interior black/gray theme
