Ice under my passenger floormat?
I've had a problem with my truck for a while now, back in the summer I spilled a pretty large bottle of water on my floor while I was in a hurry one day and forgot to close the cap, . I though no big deal I moped it up with a towel and it was fine for a while. I went out this morning and went to put my new mats in my truck, pulled up the passenger one and there was like a sheet of ice stuck to the mat under neath, I was like wtf. should I pull up the carpet on that side and try and dry it off best I can? I don't want it to mold or anything like that whats a good solution to dry up the water on that side? i don't think theres much water underneath because it is primarily in one spot and I dryed a lot of it up a while ago... Any tips would be appreciated.

yeah the heater core is a possible option too, how would you check if it was that though? does it have a smell to it? I thought the same thing I deffinatly don't think its from that water bottle because it seems like it is accumulating more.. wtfff I checked all my seals, door seal, roof seal the front window seal nothing was wet or anything.. it has to be the heater core

That also is another option and why I think its not possibly that, because it does not smell at all. I'm not leeking anywhere though.. I think I must have water trapped under the carpet that never dried although I don't see how that is possible, or something I have no clue. I want to get it cleaned up though should I just pull up the carpet a little?

i had a window seal go bad in one of my previous cars and i had to freakin remove the passenger seat, tear up the carpet, and put in new insulation. cuz if the water seeped thru the carpet to the insulation u cant dry it off thru the carpet. u gotta tear out the carpet. just replace the insulation... its not too big of a deal.

Is that that hard to do? I really do not think it is my window seal I checked them all out and they were fine. I honestly just think it never dried up. Also I think thats part of the reason my truck has a funny smell when I don't have an air freshener in it.. but i shampooed all my carpets twice since I got the truck in june. I have no idea....

So all you have to do pretty much is cut out the crappy insulation, get a piece of new insulation and just kinda stuff it in there? doesn't see to hard but yeah time consuming.. sorry I didn't really read your post fully and assumed somthing I shouldn't have. Where could I pick up some new insulation and how soon should I do this? Because it is getting really cold... snowing right now as a matter a fact Thanks man

Mine leaked on the passenger side for awhile, but seems to have stopped. I have the rubber/vinyl flooring, so it's not too big of a problem.
Check this thread, particularly post #3:

Heres some pics, it looks to me now that its coming directly above the passenger door up top where it seals but I could be wrong.. I circled where the majority of the water line is ..
I'm reading that thread too, thanks for that.. but would it really leak into that particular spot though????

Yes it's only that particular spot that seems to get the wetest. I don't know where its coming from I might check the ac box though.. because it did dry up about 2 months ago and it seems to have come back again so I do think somthing is leaking somewhere I just haven't traced it yet.....
But its all dry up by the glove box its just that spot that seems to collect the water wouldn't it be all wet up by the glove box as well?
Where can I get some insulation from?

Yeah I think i'm going to check out the ac box tomorrow i'll pull it in the garage when I get home and take a look.. I'm going to read that thread again real quick. Seems like a simple task

I hope that's the problem. I never actually cleaned mine out as per the thread because it stopped on its own. If I were you, i'd check it, and proceed from there. If that isn't it, you're going to have to hope for a warm day (above freezing) and get the hose out and try to locate the source of the leak. Keep us posted.
My 3rd brake light leaked as well, but I just noticed water streaks on the back wall of the truck below the rear glass. From what i've read on here, the 3rd brake light can do some serious leaking and present itself w/ in a lot of different ways (leaks showing up in all kinds of different places). I siliconed mine and it stopped completely.

Isn't the 3rd brake light located on the rear window? It stoped for a while but seems as though it started leaking again because it was dry last time i shampooed the carpet for a little while so something has to be leaking somewhere. I was doing some reading on that earlier but I've never heard of it leaking and showing up in random spots like that. It has to be somthing close like you mentioned the ac/heater box has condensation in it or somthing. I'll check up on it tomorrow I want to get this problem solved because it has been going on for a few months now I just never thought about it till recently and decided it has become a problem.. I'll keep you posted and pm you if needed thanks bro for the help.
