i have this kind kind http://www.pickuptrucks.com/IMAGES/2...e/prem_int.jpg and the plastic inside is cracking and its starting to squeak and make a lot of cracking noises. i dont really want to pay 450 for new seats with an attached console.. someting like this http://www.redlinegoods.com/images/Ranger04-10.jpg would be ideal for me.. is it possible to take mine out without cutting the carpet too bad and putting in something like that?

 

If you have the console in the first picture, it is not attached to the seats.

The console in the second picture is from a sport trac (01-05), but not a lot of them had the full length console like that. The explorers (95-01) often had a similar console. Either one should install pretty easily, but if you have a manual transmission it might be tricky to make it work as shown in the second pictures.

 

I have the auto trans so I hope it'll be a little easier to replace..
Is there a thread your know about on how to take that kind of console out? I tried searchin with no luck =[

 

solution:

remove the console

put it in a box

send it to me!

if its broken, i will take it off your hands. no charge.
