Explorer Seat Swap Help! [Pics]

Gentlemen,

I've just completed gutting my interior from my 99 Ranger Super Cab. I had previously picked up a set of powered leather explorer seats from a 1997 explorer from the junk yard. I had read that they will fit without a problem, and they do, however I've run into one problem.

I was trying to migrate the seat belts from my ranger seats to the explorer seats but it appears the explorer uses different belts? There also seems to be an extra "rail" on these seats that are not on my old ranger ones (It's the black metal rail on the explorer seat.) I have also included a picture of the seatbelt I am trying to attach. Any idea on what that rail is used for? Also any ideas on how to migrate seat belts?

Explorer Seat

Thanks for the help!
Mike

Honestly I left the extra rail on my seat. On the belts, I had to bend a little metal tab down to get the female end to bolt up to the new seat.

i would say the belt is in the wrong hole. I've been in many of explorers and have never seen the latching part that far forward
Maybe the PO was a bit hefty

Take the ranger bracket and put it on the expo seat for the seat belt receiver... I had to do this on my 2000 when I put 96 power leather seats in it.... It's a quick easy fix. I too, left the rails on the seats, you can't see them with a console between the seats.. Either shorty or FL

The explorer seat's "extra rail" bolts to the ranger's center lap belt anchor point. You'll have to transfer the ranger's belt receivers over to the explorer brackets.
