Finally did the seat mod and console

I finally got around to modding the 60/40 seat and installing the Explorer Console. Painted the console with Dura-Coat charcoal gray and it was a little lighter than the Edge interior. Gave it two coats of clear and it darkened it to the point where is a good match. Recovered the arm rest in Black.

Looks good man, nice job. I like the paint scheme you did on that console.

You did a great job! If I didn't have a standard and a t-case lever I'd be all over the explorer console. I really like what you did with it.

Looks good. Do you have the gap underneath the console in places?

So?

So have I, but I made it work to fit a manual transmission.

All you need to get is a new shift boot, do a search here......

IT CAN BE DONE!

Yes, It would probably be less noticable with carpet. I'm thinking about adding a strip of black foam rubber under it. I did manage to get the "creaks" out with a few well placed drops of CA glue.

It a black upholstry material that they had at the shop. I didn't do it myself. I had it done. They did a perfect job for $20 including material. Add that to the $15 I paid for the console at the jy and $10 for paint make the total cost for the project $45.

Let me know the end result when you get that done.

I am thinking of doing it, but want to see what someone else uses before I start messing with it.

I'm thinking the Home Depot for some type of foam weather stripping.....I dunno.

Looks good! Is that a CB below the A/C controlls? If so what brand and model? I like the size.

It's the remote control head for a vhf/uhf ham transciever. The rest of it is behind the seat.
