Has anyone ever seen these or even used them???

This is a link to an EBAY auction that has had my eye for a while now...

I think they look pretty good but just wondered if anyone has any Ideas on them...

Ford Ranger Seat Covers (CUSTOM)

I wanted to put Custom Racing Seats in my Truck but I have 2 problems. . .

#1. I could never afford seats for my truck...
#2.. I didn't know anything about the Airbag System being under my seat. (I used the Search Feature!! and found that out just now!!)

I also wanted to put a Custom Steering wheel in but I have Cruise control.. Although I HATE AIRBAGS!!!! Isn't there some way to shut the drivers side off too but turn it back on if I have to go for inspection...???

for one, i dont know much about those seat covers.

for two, if you REALLLY want racing seats, they can be had for like, 100 a peice.

for three, keep your airbags, they seem like a nuisance or whatever, but they can save your life. just leave em in...

Where can I find Racing Seats for $100 a piece??? Are they any good???

Oh and as far as the airbags go.. I'm more then likely going to keep them, it's just that I am a Vol. Firefighter and I have seen people get hurt more with them then with out them... But Since I really want to use a "functional" 4-Point harness setup I am willing to bet the airbag would never be a factor. I just can't use a 4-Point Harness with the stock seats...

WOW!! Those yellow and black ones are awsome!!! I never even thought to check out JCW... I just used google and tried Racing seat.. All I came up with was Sparco and MOMO.... (OUCH)

I also have full access to a machine shop so I can make mounts for them... What is the deal with these Air Bags sensors...

Just when I think I have this all figured out and it's going to be easy..

hey man, id keep the airbags even if you have a harness.

they there to help. here comes my grapic side, where blood and guts dont matter.

Young girl, was riding in her camaro, flying around curves and what not, she lost it. SLammed hardcore into a tree... Well, She had previously disabled her airbag according to a friend.... since she did this, the steering wheel, is now implaed in her chest, and tore up her head. The front of the car, pushed back, at such a rapid force that it just slammed into her. If the airbag would have been there, it would have helped her, and she possibly could have survived the accident.

they are there for a reason... keep emm.

Summit sells their seats for 209ea, but they're simulated leather and look really good.

just search for Summit Sport Seats

Another issue with taking out the airbags is if and when you go for inspection/safety checks here in CT if your veh. was originaly equiped with airbags they need to be in the vehicle. I had that problem w/ my civic. So if you take them out keep them, they are very exspensive.

I think hes refering to the seatbelt switch in the seatbelt latch

on 01+ disconnecting it will cause the airbag system to deactive and falsh a code

on 98-00 you can disconnect it and not have the annouying buzzer/light when you start the truck

aslong as you retain the stock seatbelts you wont hafta worry about changing the seats, now if you oped for a 4 or 5 point harness some electrical mods will be needed if you want to keep your airbags

Those covers look nice, but i would not give you $180 for them or any other seat cover. At one point i was going to replce the seats in my focus with raving seats, I thought I figured $300 to replace the front 2. Thats only $120 more then these 2 covers.

go to the "how to" section in the forum and look at the seat conversion. That's what I'm doing on my ranger, I hate the 60/40 bench. I was looking at the 60/40 seat covers and they are all insanely expensive
