Icon5 HELP 60/40 conversion

I am currently doing a 60/40 to 40/40 conversion. The underside of my seat doesn't look like in the how-to. I have some piston thing under the middle section that says explosive do not tamper and it has a cable attached What do I do?

hahaha funny guys but seriously should I not do this mod or can I just wrap the fabric around it. I believe it may be an activator for the airbags or something. But not sure if I should do this as the how-to pics don't show this or make any mention of it.

I wouldnt touch it. Honestly, I dont have a clue what it could be, but I would put it back together till you find out what it is. Its not worth it to trade bucket seats for no airbags (if thats what it is)

if your talking about the long metal ***** looking thing, thats your seat belt pretensioner

your probably going to want to cut the bars right before they meat the black plastic covering that is over your pretensioner...if your worried about setting it off just unbolt it from the seat tracks...its simple

Ok thanks. If it is a pretensioner why does it say explosive?

it is your pretensioner and it says explosive because it uses highly compressed gas to drive the metal piston inside of it that retracts the seat belt upon impact. Id bet my soul on it that its your pretensioner

Yep, pre-tensioner. It tightens your seat belt in a crash. It is part of the buckle assembly. Don't worry about it, you can't get rid of it. Just cover it back up with the fabric when your done.

Ok good deal.

Well there have prolly been a thousand images of this posted but I'll post a few more. Here are the pics of mine. Now I just need a center console and maybe maybe some carpet:) I would have preffered to sew and/or staple but too much work and these are temporary till I get exploder seats after the console. Needless to say I am lovin it and can't wait for console:)
