hmm paint or replace the radio bezel

i want your guys/girls opinion to paint or replace the bezel seeing as the rubber decide yesterday to start peeling off. if i paint it i was thinking of bringing it to a paint shop and have them paint it sonic blue to match my truck. im just worried it might look funny only seeing the bezel paint blue and the rest of the truck interior is gray and black. heres some pics of where is starting to peel

as you can see from the pics it doesnt look like its peeling that bad but just running me finger across it makes more fall off

paint it....put like 5 coats of clear over the paint, let dry really good wet sand it out nice and it should be gold!

or take it up to a paint shop and have them 100% color match it. should be about the same cost as buying a new one...and it will look really nice

oh btw just remebered if your trucks still underwarrenty they cover that!

Paint it man, I painted mine Sonic Blue and then changed my mind, sold it and got a silver one from an Explorer. It was nice for the time being.

some others have painted all their air vents as well, so you can have some more sonic blue stuff, also that plastic part on the door where the power lock and window buttons are

A coating, film or otherwise fake carbon fiber, yes? Not actual woven, fiber, right?

o4Edge, Mine is doing it and I have Sonic Blue also. I have been trying to find color match spray to no success. I don't think it is available. I think when I get around to doing it, I am going to go with a silver. I read a thread here where someone did it and it looked great. Their comment was that silver goes with any exterior color. Sonic Blue seems a little risky to me, but I would love to see one done in it to confirm. It may look great. I am torn.

I've heard tale that if you go to a local paint guy and ask for it, they can make their own spray can for you that is color matched. The silver does look really nice, but to me it looks more like a stock option than something really custom, but if you were ready to just replace it than that might be perfect for you.

I may try that. I want to paint my mirrors anyway so it wouldn't be wasted money if I didn't like the bezel. I painted some small stuff with a Prevail Sprayer before using auto paint and it worked out fine. The problem is buying the components. Once you buy paint, reducer, hardener, fisheye eliminator, clear, etc it seems like I was at $150. This was 10 years ago.
