I Think I broke something.

I was mad after work, and when I got in the truck, I slamed it down into drive, and the **** broke off, and went flying, all I was left with was two wires. Which later I found out, if you touch them together it turns O/D on and off. Now, I've got the two wires seperated, and electrical taped to the column.

Now on to my question, I know there are some people who have switched from auto to manual, and was wondering if I could just find another **** somehow manage to pry it off, and then put it on mine, or will I need to find another column.

Here is a picture if you dont know what I'm talking about.

And heres one of the f-150 guage pod for the ones that wanted to see it.

Man that sucks, Maybe you can get a custom billet one now or something cool like that. Does the F150 pod get in the way of any of the gauges? Is there anyway you could get a pic like your looking down like you were driving at the gauges?

When your looing down on it, it blocks from the 5 down on the Tach. That and the O/D light, but I dont have that option anymore.

It looks like its just pressed on, theres no threads, so its not screwed on, I didn't really look at it too much, I'll look at it more tomorrow.

its all one assembled piece! you will need the whole arm etc that goes to the column with the wires and a plug on it.

I have had to replace one before. They are not way over priced like several things from the dealer.

Ok, so what your saying is that I'll need to buy a new shift arm all together. By any chance do you remember how much of a pain it is to do?

Here is the pictures man.......

You don't have to make your dash like this, you will have to remove the lower section, the plate behind it, and the steering column cover: (mine is like this because I did some other stuff to the truck)

Remove the pin going throught the shifter by tapping on it and driving it out...you will want to drive it towards the driver side. The clip will come out with it and needs to be put back in:

This is the pin:

This is the plug on the under side of the steering column for the OD On/Off button:

You can see the plug right above the blue plug:

Hope this helps man.......

Note to self, when mad, do not beat on the truck too hard as things tend to break...

Sorry to hear man, looks like you have everything going right on the fix though. Gotta ask, whats with the eject button on the dash though!?!
