Crappy seats

I saw the how-to on doing some things with the existing seats but I need to get rid of my seats entirely. Has anyone had any luck changing out their seats? My drivers seat is not comfortable and since there is no lumbar support, it's starting to damage my back. I can't sit in it for long periods of time without needing a visit to the chiropractor. Ideas? Options? If not, I may have to rebuild the seat with some foam and an electric knife.

depends on your truck. 97 and older have tons of options. 98+ reg cab really have no options without major work. 98+ ext cabs can go with explorer seats.

I've got a 2000 extended cab. If Explorer seats will bolt in, I'm gonna start looking for some beige seats. Thanks for the info, gang! I love the truck but I can't continue to let my back get worse. The chiro is more expensive than the seats!

Should I look for 2000 Explorer seats? I want to make sure I get the right ones.

there's no built-in lumbar on the face of the earth that gives me the support I want. The Expo seats are better but still not enough for me. So I rock a pad of foam behind my lower back.

we do stuff like that all the time at the shop. add a 1 or 2" block of foam to the lumbar area, under the cover and factory foam bun.
