So what does this light do for you? What's the difference between the stock and XLT light?

the XLT light (before) has 2 map lights & 1 center light, you can turn on 1 or the other map lights but not both at once (shared switch). The after is an Explorer dome light. With it you can turn on both map lights at the same time (separate switches), plus this one has trim that matches the interior. As far as install, 3 screws to remove old one, 3 screws to install new one, no wiring involved. However I did have to trim some of the headliner to get it to sit flush.

Regarding the airbox mod: I did it. I love the sound of the throttle BUT I go thru mud and water so much I regret doing it. If you use a paper filter I would just take out the silencer (the tube that stick out the front of the airbox) and be done with it. You get the sound and less restriction in air but still the relative safety from water and such...

If you don't go thru mud or anything like that then chop that thing all to hell :)

Rich: Glad you like it! They look better than that bubble of an XLT light.

Junkyard, maybe $5

Ebay, I've seen the stock XLT dome light, like the one Rich replaced, go for $38 plus shipping...not sure about explorer dome but you can check it out for yourself. JY is a much better option. Plus you can usually find thing you can sell yourself and make some money :)
