Manual shifter indicator button

The botton on the **** of the shifter on my '94 Ranger.(you know..the one with a picture of the shifting pattern on it) is loose and rattles and shakes when I'm driving...very annoying. About a year ago I tried applying a tiny drop of adhesive..which helped for about a week. Does anyone know of a permenant fix for this?
Thanks

On my 88 ranger I had this happen, All I did was a tiny drop of super glue in four spots along the seam and it stopped it for me.

I just removed the indicator coin thing...then got a hurst shifter. lol.

I'd pop it out of there, squirt some silocone or shoot....JB weld on the 'teeth', then put the indicator thingy back on and press down for like 10 mins.
