Mounted my CB and antenna

didnt use my 12volt anyways and can put one in if i want

the bed is a mess had to load some hay
doesnt really pull 1 ton so great lol

and did it come with a mounting clip for the speaker/mic unit?

that antenna is about 2' shorter than you want.

the whole thing is one unit yeah it did come with the mounting bracket but i just took out the ash tray and 12v and put velcro on it...its not gonna come off and if it needs to come out it will be as simple as just pulling it down and sliding it out
and its a cobra 19 ultra III
and yeah i didnt know where else to mount the antenna so i just put it there for now

and i know im getting a longer one soon and gonna make an antenna mount at school thats like alon's
and i figured i never use my ash tray and i havent used my 12v since i got my truck so i just put it there

how does it work? that antenna looks way too short. its gotta stick out above the cab by at least a couple feet.

It needs something to go around it like trim to cover up the mess.

yeah i know i think i will just make a plate out of plastic at work or out of wood and wrap it in vinyl
or suggestions???

what was removed to open up the hole? ashtray? maybe you could cut that so it fits around the CB?

I thought about putting mine there, but I throw my change in the ash tray.

So I went with right underneath it, which looks better, IMO, and since we have the same dash, I'll be a *****:

I used to run the 4 foot hick sticks right behind the cab, but broke them off trees and garages and such, I run a 2 footer just like your antenna and get a solid 6-8 mile range thru crappy terrain. Much better on the highway

Basically if you end up stickin with that antenna you'll be fine, depends what you use it for

well if i were to mount it under the dash i wouldnt be able to use my cup holders i may switch it if i do the 60/40 conversion and expo center
