NO OIL PRESSURE!!!! turn off your engine to avoid terminal failure!!!! hahaha

TrucknGolf 04-24-2009 11:32 PM

PRND12 or what?

03bamaGT 04-24-2009 11:33 PM

Is your oil gauge broken?

RangerMuse 04-24-2009 11:33 PM

No oil pressure is FTMFL!!!!

crazymikey 04-24-2009 11:38 PM

took me a double glance to spot the oil pressure.

is that just the gauge going wacko, or do you really not have any oil pressure?

blueranger789 04-24-2009 11:43 PM

noticed the oil guage soon as i looked at it

Rolldogg 04-25-2009 05:42 AM

I'd say replace your oil sending unit sensor, but your "check gauges" light isn't on. I think your gauge itself could be f'ed.

Seahawk 04-25-2009 06:10 AM

I think it's time for an update.

Hitch 04-25-2009 06:34 AM

rangerbert 04-25-2009 07:57 AM

change you oil pressure sending switch. I had same problem change the switch all is fine now.

Wolgun 04-25-2009 08:13 AM

Lord Of War 04-25-2009 08:19 AM

changed from a tape player to a cd/tape player!

As for the oil gauge. when i took my dash apart to replace the bulbs i blew it out with the air hose to clean it a little and the needles were spining around i thought i had them all back in the right place but a couple weeks later relized i didnt have any oil pressure. if you look closely you can see that the needle is below the pin so it spun around backwards. had to take it apart again and put it back in the right spot. good job

htjunkie 05-02-2009 10:49 AM

My guage is at the same spot!! how the hell do you get it back on top of the little needle?

I took the dash apart untill it looked like this and shoved a peice of bailing wire into the hole in the bottom right corner and used it to push it around.

Here is the link to take the dash apart. You dont have to take the cluster out unless you are still having trouble.

i can't believe i missed this thread. about a year ago when my truck would idle @ red lights, the oil gauge would go nuts and smack back and forth against the pin, until finally it went under it. where it's been ever since.

no check engine, no codes, no problem...

htjunkie 05-04-2009 10:29 AM

Cool, thanks man. I'm not crazy about taking the dash apart again, but it better than not having a working guage.

Mine wasnt either. i still had oil pressure but the pointer was below the needle so it just couldnt read right.
