Yep sure will. To mount it up go here: cardomain.com/id/n3elz the wiring is a little different on the 08s but theres a thread on here somewhere, just search for it.

It will work perfect just like 04blackedge said. Dont pay $100 bucks for that baby either. You can get one for about $65.

Ya, sometimes you can get lucky with members on here selling a weird color or something. I got a tan one that I painted black. I think mine was 50 including a Mustang Domelight.

Proof: Heres a '97 Explorer console in my '08:

towards the back, the edges are a tad too wide, but its not enough to notice unless you get real close. When I install dynamat on my roof, Ill be able to fix it by stuffing some extra pieces around the console to stretch the headliner down a little.

yeah I had marked the wiring colors for my 07 Ranger, i'm assuming that the 08 will probably be the same.

Well, I finally got it installed yesterday, works great except for the dome on the console isn't coming on the OEM dome. Besides that, this is a great mod. I highly recommend it. It's easy and fun. The hardest part for me was getting up the courage to cut a hole in my brand new headliner. But after the first couple of cuts, it was all down hill from there.
