OHC Wire Color Question

okay i already looked through the how-to's and i noticed my colors of the harness were different. heres what i got on the harness


black
lightblue/red
purple/orange
grey/black
black/light blue
lightgreen/orange
blue/yellow
lightblue/orange

need help please

Most of the Ranger how-to's are written for overhead consoles from 2nd generation Explorers. It sounds like you have a console from something else.

OK, I looked at the schematics for several years and models and here's my best SWAG (Scientific Wild *** GUESS):

Pin 1 - not used
Pin 2 - black (ground)
Pin 3 - violet/orange (hot in run)
Pin 4 - gray/black (VSS)
Pin 5 - light green/orange (map lights)
Pin 6 - black/light blue (dome lights)
Pin 7 - not used
Pin 8 - light blue/red (dimmable night illumination)
Pin 9 - dark blue/yellow (ambient temp sensor feed)
Pin 10 - light blue/orange (ambient temp sensor return)

ur kinda far from me or else Id help out! I did mine and cut little by little until it fit snug. Keep sharp blades with you btw...the headliner dulls blades FAST!
