only defrost.????

only defrost.????
yup, no matter what selection I have my temp control on, it always blows out of the defrost. the fan still blows fine, it will go to heat and a/c, just not out of the regular vents. any ideas on the problem.

the vacume controll has failed that is the fail safe of the system. May need a new actuator.

orrr.. you may have a hole/leak in your vacuum lines under the hood, just check them, they go into a black round reservior under the airbox

Or, on your 98 4x4, the vacuum leak could be in the Pulse Vacuum Hublock system, a notorious leaker that shares the vacuum reservoir with the HVAC.
