Opinions - QUICKLY!

Well guys, i decided to paint the inner door handle trim a silver color. I am here at work, and i just shot the basecoat and i am about to clearcoat it, but i have a problem.

Looking at it, i cant decide now. Satin gloss clear, or standard gloss clearcoat?

Ill post this up, ill go clean my spray gun and ill come back!!!

Satin would look the best in my opinion. :) I've been thinking about doing the same to mine but i'm afroad it might be too "blingy". If i thought it would look semi-oem i'd do it. Post some photos of the finished product installed if you would.

I put them on yesterday. I am happy with how they look, i think i got the color right (i just cocktailed it off of our mixing bank) and the clear looks proper. I didnt want a total flat, so it has some shine, but not enough to be too blingy. I did the radio bezel a while back with a full glossy clearcoat and i like it, but the grainy silver wouldnt look as good. i didnt sand all the texture out of the plastic, i thought it looked more OEM that way. Plus it seems with parts like this, if you sand all the texture out you see more of the flaws in the piece. (divets where screws attach on the back and whatnot).

used real car paint here with a specialized primer thats meant for raw plastic that can be painted over.

crappy cell pics -
first one of the radio bezel. Funny, i went from satin silver on the bezel to glossy black, and from satin black to satin silver on the door trim.

I don't think there's much more that can be/needs to be painted inside a ranger. maybe some cool new gauge overlays?

Only things I would paint in mine would be the radio.hvac/vent bezel and the door handle area like sixt9coug did.

Anything more and it just looks like you were trying to use up the rest of the paint left over.

yeah for now i think thats all im gonna shoot inside. The little vents and stuff i think look better in the stock color, and anything else in a contrasting color is gonna look too busy. I might change my shift ****, or shift boot to something not so cheap looking.

I did add a bunch of sound deadening under the carpet last weekend. helped quite a bit, but once you fix one area of concern, you notice the other areas that could use a little attention. ayy, it doesnt end. It never does lol. you'd think i would have learned that from my Cougar wouldnt ya?

I'd upgrade to some billet HVAC *****,door lock pops,a custom shift **** and like i mentioed before, maybe some new gauge overlays. All subtle stuff that makes a big difference.

That part circled in the picture serves no purpose. The explorer dash and ranger dash are the same. It is used on the explorer dash for the EATC setup
