Painted some trim, part 1....

I got a new gun and decided to paint some trim. Matching Dupont sonic blue, OEM exact match & PPG clear.

3 coats color, 3 coats clear.

Painted Mirrors, Lockrods, Lockrod Rings, Window Cranks & Trim panel inserts!

Next up, liftgate handle, and door handles...

Your truck looks great, sonic blue is such a nice color. When I had my 04, I always wanted to eventually paint the mirrors. Your work is always clean, and looks to be done right on everything.

Thanks next up is the door handles, liftgate handle eventually tonneau cover handle & some more interior pieces. (Maybe shifter console & cupholders)

I wasn't sure if I should do the sail plates but I'm glad it came out ok looking with them painted.

I didn't want to take them off because I don't have the LED circuit ready I'm going to be putting under the handles when I take them off. (Kill 2 birds with 1 stone)

When I disarm my alarm it will light up under the handles.

When I open the door it will light up a ray of light under the door.

All blue LEDs.

Very nice. I love sonic blue too! Where exactly did you get the paint, or did you order it directly from dupont?

I know you said you like your plain grill, but it would look great with either the billet grill like I got/had, or the same thing in the black version.

You know, as "annoyed" I get of your frequent Evo talk, both your car and truck are quite awesome lol.

I'm not sure if I like the matched mirrors or not yet, but they may grow on me. Very nice job on all the pieces. Looks like the mirrors could use a little wet sanding, or is that just the camera? Either way very clean work.

I have to polish them still but I want to wait a few days till it cures a little better. I have a hard time taking pictures without the flash because things come out so yellow looking. You can see if you've seen sonic blue in your real life, that color looks nothing like sonic blue over the computer...

My favorite is from the cockpit view. I have my mirrors looking through the window and painted panel pieces left and right. With matching cluster interior and the radio bezel.

Go to carquest and have it mixed. I have a special resource because I do body and paint work, so it only ran me a "favor or two".
