Platinum Paint

Anyone found a good color match for the Explorer platinum hvac panel? I want to paint a radio bezel, my ohc, and my door handle bezels in a color that matches the hvac panel/speedo bezel.

Here is the color in question. Spray can is what is preferred.

Do you have a pic of the panel you are talking about? Just curious what it looks like

Just a thouhgt… find an Auto Paint Store, check out the SIMs Paint.
The Store should have a paint sample list, match your color.
USUALLY the SIMs Paint is the exact color or the sample.

Motorcraft used to sell interior touch up spray cans. Unfortunately, just the main interior colors are covered..not the interior trim accent colors. Platinum isn't on the list of available(used to be available) colors from Motorcraft.

Dylan....any info on the specific paint that you used? Like a picture of the can? Anything other than "interior paint from autozone"?

The only problem with Paint from AutoZone and other stores like them it is more likely that the first can will matches but if the you need a second can it won’t match the first.

i called a paint supplier 2 days ago, who directed me to a specific parts store, who mixes automotive paint, in any colour you want, metallic, metal flake... ANYTHING and they will put it into a spray bomb for you... cost me $24 for my can of dsg i picked up 2 days ago, and it is guaranteed to be a perfect match

Don’t lose the Paint Code, write it down somewhere you won’t lose it.

Shouldn't be hard to find, it's in the door jam or you can give them the last 8 vin charecters and they will look it up

The silver trim color IS NOT listed anywhere in any of your vin or door sticker at all. The interior trim code is the main interior color.

True BUT IF someone goes to the trouble to mix a can of paint the color they want then they need to save the code.

Usually the can get paint on it or gets thrown away then they have to start over.

Save the numbers separately and you’ve got it later...
