Pretensioners in Ex seats for your Ranger

The install write up.

Well put a set of Explorer full power x2 seats in the 04 X cab.

Expo power tracks mount right in the x cab Rangers with no prob.
The problem arises when you go to mount your seat belts.
Many on sight have opted for several different mounting methods.
Some of these methods disable the AIr bag restraint system.
This is not something I wanted on my truck.
The Pre-tensioner seat belts unbolt from the Stock seats with one bolt, unclip the wire ties and there it is, ready to mount on your Expo seats.

At this point unbolt your power tracks from the expo seats so you can unclip the fabric retainers and roll back the fabric/leather.
On the side of the seat body you will find there is a hole in the correct placement that will work for the seat belt install, I needed to enlarge it slightly for the grade bolts I was using.

Now because the pre-tensioner seat belts have a anti swivel tab on them, rather then cutting it off I drilled a series of holes and opened into a slot to accept the tab.

After test fitting I had to cut the foam to make room for the pre-tensioner.

This went very smoothly up to this point, all that was left was to fit the seat belt.

In order to hide the assembly, I made a cut in the leather at the apropriate point to feed the seat belt through.

This placed the seat belts in the correct position and retained the Pre-tensioner belt mechenisms. Therefore the airbag system will operate as designed
Disabling the Air Bag system is not wise and is very dangerous.

If no Consol is to be installed you could stitch around the sliced hole for a better appearance. in my case the consol will be installed tomorrow along with wireing.
Providing correct access to the seat belts and a factory finish along with retaining the pre-tensioners and air bag system.

That looks really good. If I ever get around to this mod, I think I'll stitch my seats. If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay for the seats?
