I'm trying to install my electric tailgate lock but having a problem locating a wire. My 2004 Ford Ranger doesn't have the pink and red wire on the pass side kick panel.

Which wires do I need to tap into on the passenger side in order for the keyless fab to unlock it? I wanted to do it on the passenger side door lock so I would have to press it twice to unlock it.

pop the interior panel off the passenger-side door to see what color wires are attached to your door lock actuator. you'll be, basically, wiring the tailgate lock in parallel with the passenger door lock.

 

Oh I got it. It was Pink/Black Stripe and Pink/Red Stripe. They were located in the black connection at the top of the kick panel, almost in the glove box (bottom left corner).

I love having an electronic locking tailgate!
