question about full length center console lid

finally got a REAL center console lid for my full length console lol

for a while i'v just had a piece of wood cut to shape and size with padding on top and some cheap black fabric.
well found a lid on ebay and bought it.

hard to tell from the pics, but it looks to be tan. so it'll need reupholstered.

just wanted to make sure the outside of these is just upholstery that is over a pad?

luckily my mom is savvy with stuff like this and can redo it for me if possible lol

Correct. Its super duper easy to do, my girlfriend and myself did it in like 2 minutes. Just pop the screws out, separate everything, spray the adhesive down and then stretch the material over and secure with staples.

but what do you do about the corners? do you just section out some of the material so it smoothly lays on the corners or what?

I just used a heat gun to pull the corners as tight as I could. It was a while ago so I don't really remember everything but I don't think we sectioned out material or anything like that, we got it tight enough with heat and pulling.

I used some fake leather/vinyl material and it worked fine. Most material has some give when its heated up.
