For years the cupholder in my 60/40 center console has been bugging me. For one thing, it's not comfortable for my arm. Also, it eats up space inside the console. I know the Edge model doesn't have the cupholder, so here's my question:

Can you remove the inner portion of the console, and replace it with one that doesn't have a cupholder?

I've tried pulling on it, but maybe there is some hidden way. The outside is in great shape, so I really don't want to replace the whole thing. If I could just gut out the old one, I would then get a new top, and be done.

 

replace it with a complet center console........i believe they are attached with only a torx bit.........remove it and just swap out the complete unit!

 

Not sure what an 01 is like, but my 06 has the cup holders attached to the middle "seat" to remove the cupholders the manual says to simply pull it up.

 

Actually some of the edges late 01-03? came with a cupholder in the 60/40 center console as well as the XLT's.. it would be an easy swap

 

you should be able to remove the bolts that hold the "swing arm" to the counsoul and replace it that way..

my dads 03 edge has the cupholder in the counsole also..

 

Anyone actually ever replace the inner portion and lid of the console?
Without removing the whole thing?
