Radio Bezel Painting

So I picked up another radio bezel and im looking to paint in. I have a couple a questions.

What color should I paint it? Heres my truck:

Its "dark green satin" aka Black/Green/Blue. I have the grey interior with black trim.

Second question, Is there a how-to or something like that one here. The sticky at the top of the "Interior" forum doesnt work. The link in the first post brings you to a "404 Not Found"

See thats whats hard because its Green, Black, or Blue depending on the light. And I think it would be hard to get it to look right.

Has anyone ever used that carbon fiber tape stuff they have at pep boys?

I find that John Deere Blitz Black is really close to a stock factory color....yet still having a custom look. I've had two different bezels in my truck....the stock one was flaking, so i sanded and painted. First, was gloss black, then flat black, then deep wedgewood blue, then blitz black, then it just was crap. So another bezel was in order, got it, was silver from thefactory, sanded the rubbery crap off, then painte it John Deere Blitz black. Looks damn near stock.

imo, satin black, like John Deere Blitz Black. JD part # TY25631 for a 12 oz can.

And here's a comparison between stock(left) and Blitz Black(right):

I would say go with the color of your truck or a gloss black. If you really want chrome, there is a chrome paint but its expensive and hard to apply.

For painting it, when I did mine, I removed the rubber texture on it and sanded it down. I then applied adhesion promoter followed by primer. I then did my base coats and airbrushing then finished it off with a clear coat.

If your talking about mine, I got the bezel from Ford. I just ordered the one that came in the STX rangers. Some folks will say get the stick on kit from Hillbank motorsports but I don't like it as much, and it don't have the hole for the foglight switch like my stx bezel has.

I was thinking about doing a carbon fiber one but don't know enough about it to do it yet.
