I have always pulled the fabric off first, make sure you get plenty of glue on the vinyl tends to sag.

Just curious, but why would you want to replace the fabric headliner with vinyl?

Just curious, not dissing your mod by any means.

If I do it I'm thinking suede all the way. Red to match the exterior color of my truck. How much is that stuff anyway?

cut suede is spendy....just get the smooth vinyl liner and then go to the store and get that fancy suede look paint....j/p....but suede is kinda spendy but it looks way nice when its done correctly....yet its something i wouldnt do to a truck if it ever plays in the deep end of pools/rivers/lakes/bogs.....water ruins it way way way quick.

I think black tweed would look good in my truck but it would be kinda haha... lowrider style.

so i went ahead and coverd the headliner.....against what anthony84_2004 said because to do that, you need to replace the foam. i dont where to get that...im not SUPER happy with it for 3 reasons:

1) bubble effect (this may have gone away after the glue dried, havent looked at it in 24 hours)

2) missed a spot or two when forming it down, and there 2 small pockets that didnt adhere correctly

3) i coundnt get the edges to stay flat at the corners, i have a ripple effect in a couple spots.

the vinyl was only like 7 a yard, so i can get more easilly.....i used super 90 glue from 3m and it worked good. is it better to use more than not enough? how do you know how much is too much? is super 90 too strong? should i have used super 77?

thanks for all your help guys

I helped my friend redo his on his bagged s10.....try to pull the messed up stuff off, and redo it, you can spray it down pretty good, but make sure you wait long enough to make it sticky, and do alittle bit at a time..
