Seat swap done!

I went to the Junk Yard today, and nabbed these seats for 70 bucks. Sooooooo much more comfortable than what came out. The swap only took about 20 minutes.

Dang guys. I just though that everything was awesome, until I drove it. Now I have that light on the dash. The little yellow guy wearing the seat belt with the airbag. He's on! WTF. There was only one plug on each seat and they are both in.

Might have to carry over that safety switch from your old seats. Just look at your old seats, and that wire......what it goes to needs to be swapped to your new seats. I don't knowthe proper name of this item, but it has to do with locking the seat belt during a wreck.

I just disconnected and reconnected everything. I have a theory of that could cause the light... The truck that I got them from had been wrecked, and both airbags were deployed. Could there be some kind of sensor that has been triggered? I am taking it to my mechanic tomorrow, so he can hook it up to the scanner.

Yea......it's like a spring tensioner switch that gets turned on when in a wreck....unbolt your old ones and bolt them on the new seats. I still have to do that to mine.

Same thing with mine. They started this in 01... They changed the plugs under the seat for the receiver in 2001 to the circular looking plug vs. the flat plug in pre 01. Your airbag light will stay on until you put ones that have not been deployed in. I had to put them on the 2000 expo seats I put in from my stock 60/40 cloth seats.

Thanks for the info, but CRAP do I hate doing stuff twice! I better get them off the old ones before someone comes to pick them up.

Yah, you live and you learn... Luckily I've learned a lot from these forums! I usually ask about 15 times first then do it once haha

I have an 01 and bought seats that came out of a 2000. Does anyone have instructions for putting the seatbelt tensioner/airbag sensor from the 01 seats onto the 2000 seats?
