Secure Radio Bezel Mounting??

Is there any way you can affix the radio bezel to the dash? I have had 2 CD players stolen and I would like to upgrade the stock stuff once again. I've thought about putting the player behind the air bag (after removing it for good) and I don't think they will fit in the glove box. Any suggestions on how to do this?? Or any other possible mounting locations? Thanks

I suppose you could run some self tappers up through it somehow.....id have to tkae a look at mine for a few minutes to come up with an idea. Are they stealing the whole stereo? (headunit) I'm sure you can do it but you might have to fabricate something...yeah i know that doesnt help.
You have an alarm in the truck? that would be the first suggestion. This is the one I just ordered. My buddy has one in his S-10 Xtreme and he loves it.

im not sure if your factory radio will have a security bolt on the back, but most aftermarket radios have it. what im talking about is a bolt in the rear of the radio by all the connections that you can mount a "backstrap" to. its a thin piece of metal with a bunch of holes in it, and get a large piece. mount one end to the radio, and then run it throught the dash down below, where you can screw the other end to the floor. someone goes to pull it out, and they are either going to be slowed down so the can dissconnect it, or they wont take it.

GOOD LUCK!

You could always install an alarm to help with someone breaking the glass. Just get a detachable face stereo so that if someone does get it again, they will have to call alpine or whoever for a face plate, which is about $100 give or take a few bucks.

one cool instalation I have seen that could work for your set up was this:

the actual Unit was mounted inside the center console but a long ribbon cable was used to connect the unit and the faceplate that was mounted on the A-pillar.

this was an extremely custom set-up, but in essence it could work for you

you could mount the faceplate where ever you wanted depending on the length of the ribbon cable.
