Yeah, there is a square cut hole in the carpet if you are planning on running wires or anything. Those consoles are kind of a pain to take out haha. Not really difficult, there are just more parts than you would think.

i just did this trade with edgeman4.0, and I have the 60/40 now. I have vinyl flooring, so its black on black, and its not that bad. You cannot see the whole unless the seat is way forward or way back.

OK on the swap.

I got the idea you pulled out the console and was doing something different for a console or something along that lines.

Luck on the swap over.

I will be doing the bucket swap soon, I hope, if I ever hear from the guy; he is slower than then I am for doing these little things.
I will be removing a nice 60/40.

Did you have a problem finding the location for the Console in the truck receiving the bucket seats/console ?

no that part was easy just mount the new console in the front slots and cut the carpet/vinyl using the console base as the template .Once thats done center punch the 4 dimples drill than tap and mount .

One note you probably will need to exchange the seat belt pretensioners ,a small mistake we made at first lol

Did you use the bucket seat pretensioners or did you try to use the ones from the 60/40 ?

Any other things to look out for ?

If you are doing this swap, take the pretensioners off your seats in your truck now and put them on the new seats. Should be one or two bolts per seat belt.

there is nothing to tap to, its just thin sheet metal. either self tapping screws. or drill holes and nut bolt it. or weld on bolt studs like factory. here is factory style. minus the welds that was a botched repair job because there only tack welded on from the factory and like to pull threw

Sorry but back to the pretensioners…
Does anyone know if I use seats from a 2002 or 2003, can I keep the pretensioners that come with the new seats ?

When you guys put the Console in, were the dimples already in place.
(I know I will find out soon enough but I haven’t lift the carpet yet so I am asking).

Again thanks for the help.

If they come from the same year, they should. Somewhere over the years, they changed the part you put your seatbelt into. So if your seat belts will buckle into the new seats, you shouldn't need to swap the pretensioners. If it won't buckle, then you need to.

OK guys thanks for that info; I appreciate it.

I should get my seats soon, I thought it would be this weekend but NOT !

I hope the weather holds out long enough for me to remove everything in the cab, put in some Fat Mat sound deadening and the Seats/Console.

ltr,
