Shorty console install, any pointers?

Getting ready to install a shorty console, was wondering a few things such as: are there holes in the floor already for the big metal bracket the arm rest attaches to? How about where the front of the console bolts to the floor? Would like some heads up before I start cutting up my carpet :)

If u peel back the carpet there will be four circle dimples for the back half. No bracket is there. Will have to get that from a jy. For the front I didn't have that bracket but I just used self tap screws and tightened that bad boy down

cool, I had a feeling there would be something indicating where to drill. I've got the bracket for the rear and screws for the front. Thanks!

My 03 has dimples for the front mount but the rear I am not sure.

I haven't secured mine down yet but i noticed the front dimples when I did the sound deadening material.

I'd be willing to bet they're all there :)hopefully in a few weeks I'll have time to tackle this and the 60/40 to bucket mod.

Think on this... if you took the seats out and pulled back the carpet or the rubber mat, it might be good to add some sound deadening material.
It really helps.

In my 97 extended cab, there were slots for the front plastic parts to go into but for the back, the big metal bracket there were 4 ( 0 ) shaped indentations,I used them as a guide. my advice make sure the bracket is lined up correctly, this is what the arm rest mounts to so if the bracket is not straight your armrest will not be straight.
