is this okay?

I'm just curious if everyone else with the black grab handles on your door, do they or are they suppose to flake of black paint? it sems like lately my passenger side and driver side have like these nicks where the dark paint came off and it looks grey underneath... if this is an odd thing I'm going back to the dealer with a WTF?

I'm gonna get a picture real quick...

Every one I've seen has had that. It's from zippers and buttons on pants and fingernails.

Don't let them convince you that it's due to jewelery or something like that.

That should not happen!

Hey i have that same problem, i used to wear sunscreen to work and would rest my leg on the area and this is wat happened!!

The alcohol in the sunscreen softened up the black rubbery coating on it and I can now actually scratch off some more but havent wanted to touch it. been meaning to take it to a dealer, prolly should.

Did ford start putting the rubberized crap on the whole black part in the new ('06+) models? the ones in my truck were only doing that on the actual handle part.. but my GTI has that crap around the door grab as well.

Mine is only on the handle itself but i have crank windows and therefore don't have that extra plastic piece around the power windows and locks.
