Outlaw Desert Racing

Yesterday the 15th of Nov was the Outlaw Desert Racing Thanksgiving 100 in Rio Puerco, New Mexico. I was focused on the tech inspection and learning the track because I was a co-driver, but I tried to snap some pics.

The event was put on by the New Mexico Offroad League

Our driver signing paperwork at tech inspection Friday night which was held at the local 4 Wheel Parts

And our race vehicle for the UTV class. It's a Joyner Trooper T2, which is an 1100cc fuel injected 4 cylinder with 4wd independent with selectable lockers front and rear, 5 speed manual, we fabbed/welded the full cage, 5 point harness and window nets, with ITP rims and tires. Nothing too fancy at all, all we did was slightly adjust the stock coilovers. We were racing against Polaris RZRs.

There were a few rangers in the truck class that I snapped some quick shots of

A big block F150 stadium type truck

These were just a few of the rock racers that came. They were getting for the King of the Hammer race coming up. The green flamed one on the right is driven by the youngest rock driver in the nation at 14yrs old!

This was the first truck/buggy to start. Its an LS1 rear engine with a transaxle RWD. This truck has some generous sponsers as this guy literally has over $1 mil in this truck.

There a LOT of amazing vehicles out there. I obviously didnt get many pics but I got a lot of video, I just dont know how to put it on here.

Looks like one hell of a time. Wish I could do something like that.

I wish EVERYONE could've been there. I just got lucky that all the other guys at the shop are old or fat lol. I was the exact same weight as the driver and I raced that track on my dirtbike a couple years ago so I kinda knew it already. It's something that anyone interested in motorized performance of any kind should just enjoy even watching.
