hey guys with a facebook, i made a group for the meet on facebook. i am not sure if you can but just try to join, i will make a rsvp when we come up with a date. facebook group

 

If you guys do this in the spring time/summer time i will drive down from PA and meet. my aunt lives somewhere down there and I have never been to FL. and maybe other people will come with. Is it a good time offroading down there?

 

well not sure when we will do it again sense we will be doing it in january. mabye tho, just keep an eye out for another meet other than this and when it would be

Don't know if any of you are interested in this but I will be here, FL4WDA Discussion Forum - 2011 Camp Out It's jan 14,15,16.
It's not just Jeeps, last year we had some Bronco 2's , a few Nissan pickups, some Toyota pickups, a Dodge 2500, a Duece and a half, and several of the older Toyota landcruisers.
You don't have to do anything. Just show up and ride trails whenever you want, with whoever you want, its always a fun ride with the different groups and seeing just what some people can do with their rigs.
There is more to it than that, but you don't get pressured into joining or anything. I have to do the group deal for about an hour and a half, then just have fun the rest of the weekend. Last year we did day runs, all day, and several night runs as well. Just NO drinking in ONF... The tickets are outrageous... And if you don't want to do this, consider it a heads up as to whats going on that weekend up there...

 

That weekend looks cool. have you camped with FL4WDA before? do they have a good turn out? seems like the site is a little disorganized, no newsletter for 3 years? But from whats there sounds like a good group that would know where to go and be plenty prepared.

Yes I go to this campout / meeting every year. The organizational skills of these guys isn't really geared to website updates. They are a good group of people that are trying to work with the state and park services and keep the public lands open for us to enjoy.
If you don't offroad much these are the people to go with to help you realize the things you never thought of bringing offroad.
Just figured id make the offer for anyone who wants to ride / camp.

ok guys, we have been talking quite a bit on the other forum and right now looks like we are going to have it on one of the saturdays in january because some people are going to be south and they can come if its in january. i was talking about meet in a walmart parking lot just so everyone get together and go from there but we came up with a better place that is Ocklawaha Visitor Center in Ocala National Forest. it seems to have a huge parking lot on google maps and someone on the other forum lives 10 min away and he will be checking out the place to see if its any good and he will drive around seeing if there are places for us to go. just to let yall know, i will make another thread about the exact place, date, everything, just so you dont think this is where i will post the final info
