Florida camping meet!!!!
So since it takes all us Florida people FOREVER to actually decide on a meet or commit I figured I would start to get input now. With summer coming to a close in another month or so I was thinking that we could do a weekend meet say early october early november. Cool enough to sleep in tents without dieing at night. Im thinkin centralized, Tampa/ Ocala area or any ideas. Just somewhere nice, cheap, with bath houses preferably for the ladies. Wheeling can be close if your down for that. but i mena thres enough Rangers we shouldnt be able to at least get a good sat/sun meet.
Possible Campgrounds?
Remember Sate Parks are all about rules and no drinking, etc.

I hate suggesting this place, seeming how me and the owner definitely are not on the best of terms, but check out hardrock cycle park. I was down there over the winter to train for motocross. and they turned more of the land into trails and massive hills! really nice place, but you better have a winch or someone to pull you up some of these hills.

? (mud, rocks, trails) There's a place I usually go to for the Fl 4wd club meeting, its just outside of Ocala Nat'l Forest... Called Sertoma Youth Ranch. It's cheap ( $34 total for 3 nights for 2 people with electric hookup last Jan when I went ) and great for camping. Nice place, spotless bathrooms, hot, hot, hot showers and its close to the trails. Its off I-75 exit 293 ( about 4 miles or so)... Linky --->Sertoma Youth Ranch - Dade City, FL
Hard Rock is a fun place, owner is somewhat of a pain in the a-- from what I have heard. Definatly on the list to go back to.
I have no idea if I will be around for this whenever it takes place I would love to go but I have to work when I can, right now I'm contracted until Jan between Singapore and Papau New Guinea, only home for a few days at a time.

well, I was there for a month, and lets just say the guy was an ignorant $@#&^%. my buddy, who stays there pretty much all year every year to train also, says they have had nothing but problems with him, but they try to cope since they stay for free. the facility is nice, and I'd give it an A for fun factor. I've heard nothing bad about the trails, and I've walked/rode on a few of them, they were all insane though.. so if you cant make it up some steep rocky hills, its not a good choice. if you don't have that problem, I'd say that might be your best bet. I met a few jeep guys from up north somewhere saying its the best place they know of in the south, and thats why they make the trip down.. so if they say its good, I'm sure someone here would enjoy it. and to chris, most people who just deal with him on a daily visit or once or twice a week, probably wouldn't really notice it, seeming how its a simple sign here, talk for a few, then head out. I had to communicate with the guy on a daily basis, on multiple occasions for many of things (internet access, track prep, blahblahblah).. so I'm not saying hes a HORRIBLE person. I'm just saying if you can avoid him 99% of the time, I'd recommend it. I don't normally hold grudges, so I'll put all this aside, and say its a great place. now that I feel that I've repeated myself on several accounts, feel free to ask me anything about the place (no I'm not expert on the place.. but I've spent a vast majority of time at the facility)..

exactly. he has the land, the equipment, and somewhat of a know how on how to have a killer place. you can have the best place in the world, and be the biggest @#$% of an owner, and I know people who wont come for that reason, no matter how good the place is. but, I'm not to fond of anyone who threatens me, or my dad, so hes on my list. if he spent a little more time paying attention to the needs of customers, or whatever you'd call people that go there, lol.. he could have a sick place! hes ignorant to that point, and wants to run the place how HE thinks it needs to be ran.. which sure, he can do that, but whatever normally if people suggest something, and it would mean more business for him, or a bigger attraction, I think he should look into it. but why would he want to do that? he can do as he pleases. lol. anyways, place is fun regardless..
