Silver Sands Resort

Website: http://silversandsresort.net/

8446 W Hazel Rd
Mears, MI 49436
Phone: 231-873-3769

State Park Entry
An annual pass to all Michigan State Parks is $24; a daily pass is $6. Non resident are $29.00 per year and $8.00 per day. Senior annual passes for $6.00. An ORV pass for vehicles (also required for access) costs $16.25 and is good for a full year. Non-residents will also need a "Sportsmans Pass" which is $1 and is good for life. The ORV pass can be purchased with CASH only. The ORV pass and Flags are available at any gas station in town.

State park permits must be purchased at the park. I would suggest cash because if there is no one at the gate you must purchase one from a ranger that is roaming the park.

Orange Flags are $20 and MUST be mounted on the front of the truck. Mounts are available for under $20 from the same places that sell the flags.

Go-Cart ridding so bring some extra cash to waste! LOL

You are responsible for your own camp site.

Responsible for your own FOOD!!!!!

You need a flag, orv sticker, and state park pass to get into the dunes.... ORV sticker and State park can be bought at the Dunes.

I could the 18th-21st but I would prefer not to. Once again I couldnt do the weekend after labor day because of class. If it wasnt the first week I would be game for skipping class.

No matter what the month of August would be a 1 day event for me. Not sure I will drive that far and spend that much on fuel for a 1 day event. We will see. Michelle starts school by the 18th. Time is just running out for the summer it seems!

Yeah ideally we do the early June one and then have more time to prepare for the second trip. Might have to try for late July for second trips, or maybe its just a bad August for everyone this year

I might be able to swing that, IF we stay on 8 hours a day. I'll have no problem taking a day off to come up early or what not. I'd probably just bring my quad if i do go.
I'll let you guys know closer to the date.

well so far for me first weekend in sept.(weekend after labor day) would work best for me, just gives me more time and my Aug. is already pretty packed, dont want to be stressing just to make the trip work. I'd rather this be a nice relaxing trip.

i'm also fine for going any other time in sept if anyone would want to try that

Thats what I'm thinking..cause no matter what I'm sure I'll need as much time as I can get.

I know it doesnt work for everyone but I gotta lock something in soon, for both time off and camping

If we do 2 weekends after labor day, I could justify it. I dont have classes on Fridays and I only have my solid modeling class on thursday, so I should be fine. I would be leaving wednesday afternoon and heading out there. Camping would be much cheaper then too.

Solidworks. I already know everything they teach in the class, I just need to take it for the credit. I would leave wednesday morning, but Mechanics of Solids seems to be a subject that I dont already know.

kayla made a good point today while we were talking about the trip. If the Gov. decides to lockout in August we might not be able to go to the park if they close all the federal/state parks. I know here in MN there is a lockout and non of our state parks are open and pissed off many for the fourth.

Its on my calendar. I might have one other buddy coming with me. I also looked at my schedule and I will be leaving the morning of the 14th, instead of in the afternoon.

All times are GMT -6. The time now is 12:58 PM.
