--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i have talked to dave and the managers of buffalo wild wings. there are three problems that have come to my attention.

1. bww does not have the ample parking to fit all of us there and will not reserve parking nor will they reserve seating for us. strictly first come first served. this could be a seriously long wait to get everyone seated let alone get everyone together.

2. the rock cut state park has informed dave that all of the areas are reserved already. this is a problem because it has slipped a few of our minds that this weekend is memorial day weekend.

3. last but not least there is a lot of construction going on the I-39 corridor. with that in mind anyone taking this route, (anyone east of rockford) this could be a potental lenghty drive.

i know that most of you are going and that is totally cool. please post up pics and let us know how it went and/or what got planned. i would like to get some ideas for a date, places to meet a bit later in the year that is not a holiday weekend and also that i, and anyone else who pitches in the help can prepare the meet so that it runs as smooth as the madison meet last year.
sorry for the last minute on the info. i posted as soon as i found out.

bww has ample parking. Its in front of a very large strip mall. The seating deal is an issue. Im not sure what restaurant can accommodate a large party on such short notice.

Also there is a second bww, its down the road from Rock Cut. And 173 does have direct I90 access.

There is a small less used park I know of called Kill Buck Forest Preserve. I do not know the status of this park, I do know its small and allows open containers.

Its a bit south of Rockford and off of 251 and Baxter road.

Construction near Rockford is 2 lane each direction and 45mph. They are redoing the clover leaf for i-39 interchange. It is fairly smooth but yes a tad slow.

I stumbled upon this thread late, I didn't realize there were so many this close.

After this bomb shell lets regroup those that are still in and see what we can do.

Is this meet still going to happen? I am still planning on attending even if we meet somewhere else or only a small amount of us meet at BWW's. I don't know where else we can go but I will try to look around and see what I find. I am only an hour from Rockford.

I contacted some people I know who live in the area. They said on State Street there is also Lone Star, Texas Road House, Red Robin, Taco Bell, etc. There are also more. Also all of these restaurants are connected to large parking lots that can accommodate us. Now reservations or walk in service with as many people we will have could still be a problem. I think we should still meet and just hope we find a place with lots of room.
