Another SAS in the works

Hello again everyone, I created an account a few months back but my email got hacked and I forgot my password. Starting a new account here, mostly for myself as I will be posting pictures of my SAS build and using this profile as a way stay organized and keep track of what I've done.

Originally had plans to SAS my daily driver, a 2007 Ranger extended cab. Recently I have been going back and forth between actually pulling the trigger on my daily or finding another donor vehicle for the project. I don't want to tear up my transportation to and from work, but I also don't want to purchase another vehicle, pay for insurance and give the California DMV any more than they already gouge me for with my other trucks. I found a 1995 with a freshly rebuilt 4.0L for $2500. I know the mechanic who rebuilt the engine and transmission and know that this would be a solid power train, so I'll probably end up going this route.

I've already purchased a 1997 Explorer for the 31 spline, disk brake rear axle and parted out the rest for a profit, purchased the Yukon super 88 kit, a G2 full spool and 4.88 gears for it. Future plans for an Eaton E-locker in the rear are in mind, but I'm saving a little right now with a $100 spool over a $900 selectable set up. I've also got a 1977 Bronco Dana 44 front axle, currently have a Eaton detroit locker and 4.88's being installed by my mechanic buddy who is selling the ranger. A cheap "made in india" chromoly axle shaft kit from Jeffs Bronco Graveyard and a all new components from the knuckle out are waiting in boxes to be installed when the ring and pinion have been installed. I'm pretty confident my axles will handle the 35" Cooper STT Pro's I will be using... for a little while at least.

I'm looking for about 5" of front lift with a Chevy 63 swap in the rear, it's all going to be DIY and custom so we'll see what I end up with. Still can't decide between a linked front end or leafsprings... leaning towards a custom 3-link w/ panhard and coilovers because it would be bad ***. But I do like the thought behind the money I'll be saving by just doing a leafsprung front end. Any advice or opinions here?

Thanks guys and stay tuned, slowly but surely I'll get it done.
