Army Ranger 3.0

:scool:Greetings from Iraq. Im stationed in Iraq rt now, but back home i got a 2008 ranger sport 3.0 that im ready to get started on. Ive researched as many performance upgrades as i can. So far ive decided to go with a k&n air charger intake, underdog pulleys, gibson exhaust, headers(not sure what kind yet), new thermostat, throttlebody spacer, throttlebody(so far havent found one for a 3.0), diablosport programmer and finally a mild drop to round everything out. If anybody has any experience with these products, im open to suggestions. Also, if anybody knows a good suspension kit for a 2008 please lemme know. Likewise for the throttlebody and headers.

Welcome to the site! I would skip the K&N, its not worth the money.

I don't know if Volant makes one or not for the 3.0 yet. The Roush box is a good one too, uses a K&N cone filter with a enclosed box. Kind of hard to find though

are you going home or to a base when you get back? Underdog performance is 20 minutes from Ft Hood in case you end up there.

if you want to come by, I'll help you get those pulleys on when you are ready. I'm up in Kempner, between Copperas Cove and Lampasas. Right off the hiway.

Underdog is out of roller rockers but that has been a good item. Morana should have them in stock.

I would go with an X3 over diablo sport. If no other reason, the main two guys that tune for rangers (bama and rogue) use the x3 device to do it. This will allow you to get updated tunes down the road.

Considering yours is an 08, I can put a larger maf housing on your truck but it will have to be tuned for it- another reason to get the x3 over a diablo. If you do this, don't get a 2008 intake. You will need one that fits a 2003 model, not a 2008.

the easiest throttle body upgrade is swapping one from a 3.0 escape. Its not a direct fit, but doesn't take much to make it work. Someone here showed some pics of the swap. A search will bring it up.
