I found this place thru google, liked what I was seeing, and hoped to join up.
I am Donn, I own a 89 ford ranger XLT with a locked up manual transmission. While looking for a replacement I instead found a 95 XL with a bad motor and good tranny.
After I got it home I discovered that the 95 had a burnt out head gasket. 2.3 in both trucks, Today after 4 days of tearing down and putting back together, I now have a nice running 95 XL standard cab, long bed with cruise, PS, PB, and A/C. I am looking to add a OEM CD radio ( it came without one),and then start working on the damaged left side of the truck, door and front half of the bed have been caved in. The remarkable thing is that there is 0 rust on this truck, the frame still looks new. Replacing the head gasket was time consuming and labor intensive but the results are incredible. Thank to all the forums and information that helped me pull this off. This looks like a great place to meet and share with like minded people. Thanks again, Donn Midwest Illinois.
