exploded view of front axle and hub for 93 ford explorer

Icon9 exploded view of front axle and hub for 93 ford explorer

i have a problem with my automatic locking hubs,my wheel bearings all fell out and caused major damage to the internal parts that i can not tell what all these parts are and i cant seem to find an exploded view of the front axle and hub assembly to replace all the parts that blow-up!1993 ford explorer 4x4,4.0 v6,automatic with auto locking hubs.if anyone has a printable copy of the front axle and hub assembly for my explorer i would be most grateful,

If the parts come out of the inside of the hub, there is no fixing it.

what!! that sucks.....i then will need to replace the whole assembly???....well i still would need to have an exploded view so i can put this mess all back together again..bought the truck cheap with bad bearings and now the project is starting to look and sound like a sailboat(a hole in the ocean that you keep pouring money into)....well that seems to be the story of my life right now. mahalo for the info. chuck

Well this is over on the ranger station, and i'm pretty sure its teh same front axle you use in an expo, dana28/35 it says its good for:

Nice didn't know they had that. Just a FYI he's got the D35. The D28 was only on the BII. Wish I still had my first gen explorer. Would of been a hell of a trail rig.

Yeah they have a really good tech library. I wasn't sure what axle he had, the link said it was good for the 28/35....

I went thru the same thing when i bought my truck, Pulled the front hubs off the axle, set it down, picked it up later and the inside assembly was sitting on the ground. Everything inside of the outer part of the hub has to be attached to the inside, or else you can forget 4x4, the inners will engage, but it won't spin the outside.
Check Ebay, I found a set of Mile Marker automatics for like 50 bucks.

aloha;well that a bummer and i know just what you went through.same for me,but mine was still stuck and melted,springs all hanging out plastic you cant recognize burnt grease,well you know a mess.but fire didnt work on this one it just made a mess!!!!!lol.. mahalo guys info is the root of all knowledge. explor guy

look into manual locking hubs. they are much better those auto hubs.

yeah ditch those auto hubs man, they are junk. warn makes an awesome set of manual lockouts that are much stronger.

aloha; 01 ranger.. i think ditch the whole trunk and start from the beginning....i have another truck to build and i can just strip this one down and use on my other truck.....it was to much to ask for,so just stick to one truck....my other truck has warns on it and i like them better then the autos....well mahalo for the info and you have a nice truck....explorer guy
