Finally joined, wishing it was under better circumstances

Hey, everyone. I've lurked on this site for quite some time, but an engine failure made me finally make an account. The timing chain failed on my '03 4.0L SOHC. The wise thing would be to just save up for a new vehicle, but where's the fun in that? I wanted to get into tuning, so why not start here? That beat up old truck has a lot of sentimental value to me, so I'm going to try and bring it back from the grave!

Anyway, if this repair pans out, I'll definitely turn it into a long term project. Wish me luck!

I don't know which chain it was. When my truck failed to start (it was turning over), I thought it was an alternator or fuel pump. I got it hauled to my mechanic and he told me he was almost certain it was the timing chain. I had "the rattle" for more than half a year.

I can't know much until I open it up and take a look, which I plan to do Friday. All I can say is that I started it up to head home, the engine stalled upon entering reverse, and it wouldn't start again.
