& Talk About Bad Luck
I have a 98 Ford Ranger XLT 2.5L yesterday morning we was heading to my Daughters house when we got almost to the gas station, The engine shut down with no warning was able to coast on into the Station. Thought it ran out of gas put some in, turned it over, not hitting look under hood, looked threw the gap at the top of Timing cover..... Belt missin from gears!!!!!!!!!!!! Just our luck, as if one more thing could GO WRONG, GO WRONG, this Morning... Well we call our son, he calls his friend, that owns a wrecker to come get us back to the house. Get home, unloaded OL BLUE asked how much we owe him he said $10 WOW maybe our luck has changed!!!!!???? Well I called Advanced Auto on price of belt $26.99 Okay that's cheaper than what my Husband was telling me it was going to cost!!!! LOL !!! Then I get back with Belt to find out I was going to have to go back to get a Power Steering Pump Pulley Kit!! LOL another $44 Rental Price get there and theirs was damaged and missing Parts, ended up Buying New Kit $34.87 at least they told me that I can bring it back for refund when done !!!! Well, any way we've torn it down to the timing gears and none of the points are lined up, was wondering do we have to take the Harmonic Ba-lancer / Belt Guide Off to get the Timing Belt on or wont it slide on past the guide??? The book I've got says to remove it and don't you have to have a Puller for to get it off TOO????? If so, I guess I'll have to wait til Friday B4 I can get it!!! Broke Again!!!!! PLEASE !!!!!
