Hi im Giggles
I recently got a 97 ranger 2.3 5 speed ........but I have some problems with it the check engine light came on goin gown the interstate and then started flashin I pull 3002 . Misfire in cylinder 2 put new plugs and wires and still dose it but only at idle think it might the coils they are cracked. I turned off the truck and one by on pulled off plug wires and it ran the same . It shakes at idle and misfires till I give it gas

I thought my coil was going to last week, some said they have 150,00 miles on their coils and some said using non-oem plugs was the problem. I put the eom plugs back in and it runs fine again. Check for moisture under the wire ends at the coil. I have 55,000 on mine and like I said in my thread its started running bad while we were driving it and the next day I took the E'3 plugs out and they looked like the threads were galled up. Thats been two weeks ago and the truck runs and idles fine with the oem plugs back in.

How would I check the coil packs? Cause like I said they are cracked and dont know if that would make the problem.
