Hello, my name is John. I just found this forum last night. I have had a Ford Ranger of some sort in my driveway since 1989. They are the most reliable truck I have ever owned. I just picked up a 2002 XLT 4x4 FX4, 4.0 SOHC automatic. Getting some preventative maintenance done the last few days. The previous owner didn't know how to work on this thing. Flushed the tranny today. Pulled the pan, it was missing 2 bolts and gasket was ripped, glad I did this as soon as I did. Also changed the tranny filter. Serviced rear diff. Also did all the normal stuff ( tune up brakes and so on) it's funny how good it runs by just doing some maintenance. Well gonna do a bunch more, I'm glad I found this forum everyone seems to get along and it is very informative. I have had several rangers and have done a lot of fixing up to them. I am looking forward to learning a lot more from all of you.
