Hello:)

Hello everyone. My name is Gary and I live just north of Toronto in Canada. Originally from Newfoundland though. So if you know any Newfie jokes, bring em on. I love em.:)

My toy is a 1990 Ranger 4x4. One day I saw an ad for sale for a 429 and I mentioned to my father how much fun that would be. He said I was crazy and it couldn't be done. I researched it and it has been (www.BigBlockRanger.com). So then he says it'll be useless cause I won't be able to keep gas in it.:) Soooo... I figured I'd go real funky with it and try my hand at EFI. Best way to get good gas mileage.

First I needed to beef up the driveline. I swapped in a set of '79 Bronco axles. For anyone who's debating this, it drives awesome, just get F150 axles instead for the adjustability.

Here's a pic of the truck as it is now:

Now as for the Engine. It's a 1971 429 from a Lincoln Town Car. I have Eagle rods, diamond pistons, Ford Racing SCJ heads, GM LS coils, Edelbrock Performer Air Gap intake and a comp XR274H solid roller cam custom ground for Speed density EFI (AEM EMS). Oh and if you checked out www.BigBlockRanger.com... I have those headers once he parted the truck.:)

Here's a pic of my intake setup:

Any questions or comments feel free to throw em my way.

Very nice. Keep us posted. Looks like you do some clean work. I'd love to see more pictures of the work and how you got it all done.

I'll do pictures of the engine as it goes together and gets installed. But to go through the thousands of pics I have for a build thread of sorts would take too much time. No problems posting pics or answering any questions though. Maybe someone will even answer with a better way to do things. I think I've built the truck 3 times already cause of 'better' ways.:)

For all intents and purposes, the truck is finished. It is licenced and I drive it whenever the urge hits me. The big block is not transplanted in yet though. There are a few things I have to do first. The biggest is the steering. I have to decide if I will drill and tap the block for a remote oil setup, or if I should put on a '79 Bronco power steering box. I really dunno whick way I will go yet.

Next week I will take the 429 to the machine shop to get hot tanked. I'll try and get it ready to drop in by December, but that might be a tad optimistic. I have to clear out my garage first to fit the truck in.:)
