Hello, I'm wood I have been given a 1996 4cyl automatic 2 wheel drive reg cab with only one forward gear and no reverse and I love it. I have no idea what to do with it but hopefully I'll find some inspiration from more experienced Ranger owners here.

 

Thats sound like a 3 legged dog...LOL Not quite the bases for a total ground up resto!!! If it serves a purpose I guess it still needed. Good Luck with it...

 

5speed swap sounds like a good move for you cheaper than a rebuild and it will really liven that 4cyl up. My old auto made my 3.0 feel even more anemic than it already is the 5 speed is almost required for the 4 banger.
