hello
hello Im 20 and live in NC.I got this 88 4x4 2.3 M5od this summer after selling my gas hog.This is my first ford.(I owend dodge 4x4) I relly never liked rangers but after the gas prices did wut thay did last summer i found my self looking for a mini 4x4 that was cheap and that i could fabricate on.my family is mopar nuts and i was wanting a 80s dakota to sas my 1ton dodge running gear in to but could not find a decent dakota...so i got this ranger for $600 from my buddy and I relize now rangers are cheaper and easy to find parts for

the week i got the truck i changed all fluids and nickel and dime ****.I drove it home on 2 cyl.
puled the 2.3 had 3 cracked pistons and had to rebuild or swap my289 but i rellized that the 289 would put me back to sucking down the gas
I rebult the 2.3 my self at my buddys dads machine shop .He showed me how to use the machins and i was able to build a very tight tolerance 4 banger by my self with his supervishion
I board it 40 over.ported the old D head out and polished,tripple angle valve/seat job,
got all my parts from northern auto for a good price(very good deals and help full service)
I still have lots of things to do to this truck, im just geting started and want to have a good trial/street truck.
I hope to got some ideas from this site

nope. early 80s though. he just did some work to the motor then he's doin a lift and 35s. its a bad little truck.
now that i think of it, the mud truck a guy has is an old power wagon. but other than that theres no more around here
