Hello All
Hello All
Just sayin hello, and introducing myself to everyone.
I'm Gary, and have been a proud Ranger owner since 1996 when I bought my first one new from the dealer. It was just a plain, base model 4 cylinder, manual transmission. It was my first time experiencing the coil packs and 8 plug engine. The truck was quite the work horse, and was phenomenally reliable...I only ever had to do routine maintenance. A 16 year old, driving alone (and running a red light) for the first time, ended the life of my wonderful truck (and hit so hard my right knee was shattered and the remains of the patella were in my thigh after the dash crushed in) in 2003. After recovering, I bought my 2003 Ranger. Long gone were the coil packs and 8 plugs...in its place was a plain, bland four-banger with a fraction of the power of my dearly departed 96. But, crazily enough, I still fell in love with this little manual transmission critter. 239,000 miles later, again with no major problems, it finally slightly gave out. The nearly impossible to get to coolant bypass hose ruptured.
So, as I sit here, my thoughts are still about fixing it. (and dreaming of buying a 2019 Ranger when they become available in the US) I was bitten by the Ranger bug, and there is no cure lol
