Hello - I'm new.
I recently traded a 93 honda accord for a 2000 ford ranger xlt; the honda although older actually ran better and was pristine, but my friend wanted it for his daughter, and I needed his truck for home repair. The truck is a 5 speed manual, sorta a orange-ish gold color i think called sunburst - possibly. Has tan interior. It has new rear shocks and tires, the front shocks were shot. It idled really poorly. Crappy aftermarket stereo but nice pioneer speakers on all four. The most filthy car inside I've seen. Oh yea, 159000 miles. Manual windows and door locks. Body is mostly straight just a few small dents, and paint is good viewed from a very short distance. But overall I like this truck; I think i felt sorry for it.
I just bought a stock ford radio with cd/cassette off ebay for super cheap and easily installed it - sounds great, and looks even better.
I just installed bilstein front shocks, and now it doesn't relocate my colon on speed bumps. Actually feels faster without my acceleration power diving into the springs. Inflated the tires - each was low about 10lbs.
i replaced a vacuum tube between the throttle body and the valve cover which made it idle much better, i also replaced the IAC valve after that.
I will probably replace the head lights, they are pretty fogged over - well, maybe someday.
I've cleaned 80% of the interior with various foam cleaners and vinyl cleaners and sitting in it does not make me cringe anymore - looks decent but with heavy wear. Just have to finish a bit more in the cab. I'm bidding for a center arm rest lid - hope I win it.
Um, thats the truck; I'm Darryl, and 48 years old; i have two el camino 396 SS, and a 2000 mustang gt. I've restored one of the el caminos back to the stock condition, and the other is just a cool prior drag car - fast as hell and pointless.
Well, nice to join this great forum.
