Hey

Hey my names matt i actually drive an oldsmobile alero, but my dad has a 98 Ranger with 150,000 miles. It is a five speed with a 119 hp to the crank, atleast thats what the owners manual says. anywho since my alero has no potential without dumping alot money into it, i asked my dad if i can have his ranger when hes done with it. so i can turn it into a project, at this point im thinking a good drop on some twentys will make it look good as far as the motor goes im gunna rebuild the four and im thinking alot of boost, so how much power can the stock block/tranny take? Thanks

welcome to R-F, Matthew!
your dads truck is either a 2.3 or a 2.5 (Rangers never came in a 2.4)
If you have the $$$ drop a 5.0 in there! many people with Rangers have done that.

I've been lookin and it seems that the 98s had the 2.5, atleast thats what i read, but i'd rather boost the four banger i think 5.0s are overrated and would prefer to keep decent gas mileage, i'd like to get the motor in it to handle 30lbs of boost.
